So this weekend has been the best to an end of an era! And I'm not just talking about Harry Potter. I'm talking about how amazing my friends are in spending time with me and laughing hysterically all weekend.
It probably kicked off, like most amazing weekends do, on a Thursday night. Three of my friends, including my sweet roommate Allison B., and I went to one of many midnight premieres of the final Harry Potter movie. A fan (not to be confused with a FANatic) of the books and the movies, I was pumped! I had never been to a midnight showing for a movie, so that was awesome. I downed a share size bag of Skittles to keep me awake. And the movie was awesome! Truly great ending to the Harry Potter franchise.
Allison B. & I at the midnight premiere of Harry PotterFriday night some of my dear friends and I went to Aubrey's (one of my favorite restaurants in Knoxville, or as Amber calls it "Aubrwy's" haha) for dinner. By all means I'm all about cheap food, but every once in a while I love having little dinners like these where you just enjoy one another's company while eating out. We then went to Menchie's, my favorite froyo place! Then Chelsey invited us over to her beautiful house to hang out and play games. Oh, and then she surprised me with a Lakeshore product! What??! (Check my previous post for my love of Lakeshore Learning products.) So then we played Quelf, the silliest and most hysterical game ever for those who claim they never get embarrassed. I have played Quelf in the past, but hands down this has been the best game of Quelf ever! At the end of the night, my stomach hurt from all the delicious food I'd consumed and the non-stop laughter I endured. Yes, my friends are the best.

Dinner at Aubrey'sSaturday we went to lunch and had milkshakes at Long's! I had never until that day had a milkshake from Long's, which is a delicious little breakfast and lunch place. I ate my grilled cheese and tater tots like no one's business and did not stop long enough to take a picture of the heart attack I was consuming. We decided to get milkshakes...and downed them! I spent the rest of the day visiting the Dollar Spot at Target to stock up on more teacher stuff, taking a beautiful afternoon nap, and spiffying up Nicole's blog. Then we had a chill night at Chelsey's house. Oh, and Nicole wrote her second rap. No big deal. :)

Sunday was my final Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church, the church I've been going to since my freshman year of college. I said some good-byes, which are not always easy. I went out to lunch at Soccertaco (another one of my favorites), packed some more, and went to community group with some of the sweetest girls. That night, some of my friends planned for a final good-bye dinner at Dead End Barbeque, a restaurant I'd been wanting to try for months now. What I thought would be a few people turned into a party of 20! What??! The food was awesome, but the company&conversation was better. :)

As we were playing, there were times when I took a "step back" and praised God for the laughter, the beautiful conversation, and the company of so many who have made more of an impact on me than they will ever know.
To my amazing friends---This has been tougher than I thought to write, but I had to do it. My dear friends, and you know who you are, I thank you for the best summer I've ever had and the hilarious moments I'll cherish forever. Basically if I ever hung out with you for any game night, movie night, community group, delicious dinner, etc. this year, there are not enough words to tell you how grateful I am. When I say this verse to you, I mean it with all I have: "Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God." -Philippians 1:3 (The Message).
